The Broncos donated their time and energy two Saturday mornings during the fall season to help the Idaho Food Bank sort food. 16 members from BSU Baseball took a couple hours out of their busy schedules to help out in the community. The Broncos took on a task of separating approximately 5,000 lbs of frozen meat. The ladies at the bank said it would’ve taken a regular crew around eight hours to complete the task, the Broncos got it done in an hour and a half. The Broncos are always excited to get over to the food bank!

Go Broncos!

Bronco fans were treated to a beautiful weekend of fall baseball as we swept our inter state rivals from Idaho State University. All 3 games were close battles to the end and nice victories over a really tough Bengal squad. Game one started a little rocky for the Broncos with several errors behind a solid pitching performance from Nick Patla. Nick left the game in the 5th with a 6-4 lead thanks to his 2 out, 2 RBI double. Thats when Angelo Romeo came in and shut down the Bengals in the final 2 innings. Trey Treasure and Trent Straehle teamed up from the bump for the 6-5 victory with Trent getting the win. The offense was lead by several Broncos with key hits, Curtis Davidson went 2-4 and a RBI, Nick Plaskett was 3-4, but none larger than the 2 out walk-off single provided by Taylor Archuleta in the bottom of the 7th. Game 3 was a thiller to the end, with the Broncos again winning in the bottom of the 9th inning 8-7. Jake Chamberlain had a hot stick all weekend going 2-4 with a sac fly and scored twice. But Karel Wade was just a beast at the plate going 4-4, with 3 doubles, 5 RBI`s and a game tying 2 run blast in the 7th. This was a great end to the fall season for the Broncos who played by far their hardest fall schedule ever going 7-5 overall and 6-0 against conferance foes.

The Broncos were just rewarded the at large berth for the Regional tournament that is being held in Boise, Idaho this year. After a strong second place finish in their division and playing a tough non conference schedule that included 3 nationally ranked teams, the NCBA committee selected our Boise State Broncos. What a great opportunity to show off our Team, University and City to the other teams and their fans. I have attached a tournament bracket with game times and lets see how many fans from Bronco Nation we can put into the stands of Hawks Memorial Stadium for our first game on May 13th at noon!
