Boise State took game 1 by the score of 9-5 in a 9 inning game. Tyson Dellasilva pitched a complete game only needing 112 pitches to finish off ISU, striking out 7 and stranding 8 runners. Broncos bats came alive banging out 14 hits with Tyson leading the charge with a 4-6 game and Charles Bertolli chipping in 2 key hits. Game two was another pitching dual with Nick Patla losing a heart wrenching 1-3 game that should have been won with the performance Nick gave, only throwing 60 pitches and spreading out 5 hits. Game three was just the opposite as the Broncos exploded for 15 hits in a complete 16-5 beat down of the talented Bengals. Kjell Holmes pitched a complete game, spreading 7 hits and getting the big outs in key situations. Taylor Archuletta went 3-4 from the plate, Cooper Thomas was 3-5, Seth Osgood was 2-3, Charles Bertolli was 2-4, Tyson Dellasilva was 3-5. Several Broncos had a huge weekend with the bats, but none larger than Tysons 7-13 performance, Cooper 6-13, Taylor 5-11, Charles 4-8 and Rylan Kobre 4-9.

The Broncos had a strong showing over the weekend in their series against Blue Mountain C.C. varsity team. Just goes to show how far club baseball has come in the past couple years when we can not only compete but win against scholarship players. Game one was a 9-8 victory with Nick Palta starting on the bump and going 5 innings and spreading out 6 hits, Kjell Holmes then came in and finish it off with 4 innings of 4 hit ball. Blue Mtn. couldn`t keep the top of the Bronco order off the bags! Cooper Thomas, Rich Hoppe and Tyson Dellasilva were on 15-18 at bats, scored 5 runs and had 9 hits. Game two was a pitching dual with Tyson Dellasilva going toe to toe with their best pitchers. The Broncos had more hits, fewer errors and generally out played the other team everywhere but on the scoreboard, we just didn`t get that key hit in a tough, well played 1-4 loss. Game three was also very well played by the Broncos as Marcus Brother took a 3-2 lead into the 6th inning, our exhausted 5 man pitching staff just couldn`t hold against a roster with 15+ pitchers. Still we out hit the other team, committed fewer errors and hustled to the end in a 4-7 loss. Blue Mountains coach after the game expressed his and his teams new earned respect for our club.

The Boise State Broncos had a great season this year, which included a berth into the regional tournament. 8 very deserving Broncos were honored on this years Northern Pacific All-Regional Team. First team selections were Kevin Coburn at second base with a team leading .415 batting average and 14 stolen bases (12th in the nation) . Richard Hoppe at Shortstop, was picked for his rock solid defense and a .409 average, he also scored 25 runs (16th in nation). Cooper Thomas from centerfield also had a .409 average, .536 OBP, 19 stolen bases (6th in the nation) and he scored 31 runs (10th in the nation). Marcus Brother was selected as the 1st team relief pitcher with his 1.20 ERA. The second team selections were Tyson Dellasilva for the outfield and as a starting pitcher, Tyson lead the team with 21 RBI`s, 7 doubles and a .370 average, he was 5-1 record from the mound. Marcus Brother was also selected to the outfield, he had a .341 average and a .473 OBP. Taylor Archuleta was selected as the 3rd team catcher, he was 4th on the BSU squad with a .372 batting average. Nick Patla and Hayden Stauffer were chosen as starting pitchers, Nick had a 3-1 record while pitching with a bad ankle most of the season and Hayden had a 5-1 record from the bump and he lead the team in homeruns. None of this would have ever happened without the support of the rest of the team, everyone chipped in to help the team. Scott Lyness at 1st base had a .370 average, along with Scott at 1st was Connor Tweet with a .333 average. Curtis Davidson roamed outfield making several big plays. Kjell Holmes was a vacuum behind the plate, throwing out 4 runners this year and calling good games. Every single player helped this team and was needed to reach the post season, and they are all eligible to return next year! Congratulations to ALL!
