The Broncos took the 1st game of the 3 game series with the Bengals in a 10-6 decision. The offense was lead by Tyson Dellasilva`s 3-4 and Brennan Rooks 2-3 performance. Kjell Holmes had a good day from the bump and Tyson came in to seal the victory in the 7th. Game 2 was a heart breaker as the Broncos had a great effect from Brian Begerow on the mound. Brian sit down 7 Bengals in 6 innings on strikeouts, but the 4 defensive errors behind him allowed ISU to hang around, and they won in the bottom of the 7th by the score of 7-6. Game 3 on Sunday had 28 hits between the two teams, 14 each. 5 Broncos had multi-hit games, Cooper Thomas (2-5), Tyson Dellasilva (3-4), Brian Begerow (3-5), Richard Hoppe (2-5) and JP Soreensen (2-4), but the Broncos just couldn`t get that key hit as the Bengals won 15-5.

The Broncos came up short in the 3 – 2 contest, but there were some highlights to this very well played game. Carson Wooten started on the bump and didn`t allow a run in his 3 inning outing. Tyson Dellasilva came in and shut down the Allstars in the 7th, but we just couldn`t get that key hit to go with the good pitching performance. Cooper Thomas was solid in the game going 2 – 4 from the plate and scoring 2 runs. Brennan Rooks also went 2 – 4 with 2 RBI`s in the game. We stranded 8 runners in this very close contest. Game 2 was also a great game to watch, close with lots of action and opportunities for both teams. The Broncos out hit the Allstars 7 – 3, but just couldn`t put them together in the 5 – 2 loss. Scott Lyness went 2 – 2 from the plate and scored a run.

The Broncos jumped out to a quick start to the fall season with a 7 to 6 win over the BYU / Idaho Rebels. The team was lead by Cooper Thomas & Tyson Dellasilva with 2 hits a piece and 3 runs scored by the senior Broncos teammates. Ben Doran kept the Rebels off the scoreboard in his pitching debut as a Bronco, he also had a triple to help add to the run total. Game 2 with the Rebels was a complete change from the first game with the Bronco`s bats going silent in a 9 – 2 loss. The split on Saturday was a good chance to see all the new players that have joined the Broncos this fall.

Congratulations to the four Bronco`s who were selected to the All Region team. Tyson Dellasilva was selected to the 1st team as a outfielder. Blake Scherer was selected to the 2nd team at shortstop. Brian Begerow and Trevor Freese were selected to the 3rd team, Brian as the catcher and Trevor as an outfielder. See the attached Stats sheet with a complete listing of all the players selected.
